Arcade passage (room 9)

Picture: Arcade Passage

This is part of the two-storey arcade architecture which was designed in around 1578 by the architect and painter Friedrich Sustris, who trained in Italy, for the ducal heir Wilhelm of Bavaria.

The arcades front the west and north inner courtyard façades of the late medieval castle and were built to give the courtyard a uniform, contemporary exterior in the Italian Renaissance style.
